Subject: [ROOTS-L] Re: Conflicting research / FTM Adding new Facts

I belong to a Family Tree Maker email group. Awhile
back, I posted a topic regarding the "ADD FACT" box on
the "Facts" page for the FTM program. (Click on the
pencil icon then Facts tab). FTM allows us to add
our own Facts so I asked the List what other Facts
they added.

My own additional Facts included: Awards, Elected,
Financial, Funeral Director/Home, Hobby, Language(s)
Spoken, Legal, Medical Info (I kept forgetting to add
it to the Medical tab), Member, Physical Description,
Political and Volunteer work. I also added a sort of
catch-all "Relationships" which I used to include "No
Children", "Never Married", etc.

There were some great ideas from other members. I
used two of them - Headstone and Census Record
Completed? The latter one asks if all available
censuses have been documented for that person.

Anyway, thanks to your email, another good Fact to add
would be "Conflict". If I have someone whose age
doesn't fit or may not be a true member of the family,
I can note it under Conflict. And, if I want a list
of everyone in my Tree with Conflicts, I can get
easily get it by going under Edit, Find Individual and
then Conflicts.

Thank you so much!

dee

I try to save everything about a person in my
genealogy program. If I have what I believe to be
conflicting info, in the notes I preface the
paragraph or sentence with the tag 'CONFLICT'. The
source/sources
are always included.
