The next thing I did, was a bit confusing, so I will try my best to
write it down so you can follow.

Since we found Jane's birth, on that page click the highlighted/linked
C062613.... this will bring up the form for searching just that film.
Fill it out by doing this:
-- Surname: White
-- Father's First Name: John
-- Mother's First Name: Mary

This will bring up: (Note the dates so some might NOT belong, or they
may have been baptised differently than after birth.)

I would suggest getting their actual certificates. This should list more
than just the mother's first name.
You will also notice that Saint Mary's, Portsea seems to be a "White"
place. There are many there.

I did another search looking for John & Mary's marriage.

-- Name: John White
-- Spouse: Mary
-- Marriage +/- 10 years 1810
This is the only one that comes up for Portsea.....

I hope this helps. At least it will give you an idea of how to use
www.familysearch.org

As for finding info about John White and where he was born, you are
going to have to go by the information provided on some of the
certificates, because his name and year of birth is too general.. the
name is too common.
