Los Angeles county is larger than the state of Rhode Island. It would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack to find out where they were buried without knowing where he died. The good news is that by this time period, the death certificate should tell you not only where they died, but the name of the undertaker and the cemetery. Go here: http://www.lavote.net/recorder/birth_death.htm to read how to get an INFORMATIONAL copy of the death records. Note a couple things - 1) you do NOT want to order the record from the state, you want to get it from the county. The reason is that there is a couple year backlog at state level.
