Subject: [ROOTS-L] Eliza Ann Pease Alford

My gr-gr-gr-grandmother, Eliza Ann Pease Alford was born in 1809, not sure where.  She died on 19 Sep 1890 in Lyons, Wayne County, New York.  I am almost positive of the date and place because I have her will.   I would like to find her death cert., but when I called the Town Clerk in Lyons, (which just happens to be the County Seat), the clerk told me that she could not find her in the index.  This is frustrating, as I am hoping that the death certificate will have the names of her parents on it.
I would love to her suggestions from other folks on whether or not I should try to order the death cert. from Albany.  Any ideas would be very helpful.
