Subject: [ROOTS-L] Place of Death!

Its really confussing when you might have 2 or 3 counties, that border each
other, for instance, I sent off for a Death Certificate for my husbands
G-Grandfather and on it,
it says Place of death was in Okemah, Seminole County, Oklahoma, but, other
people that I have talked to in Okemah, says it should have been Okfuskee
County, Oklahoma, after doing some more searching the property he lived on, the
two counties border each other.
Also, I live in a small town Jennings, Pawnee County, Oklahoma, and we
border three counties, Pawnee, Creek, and Payne County, what I'm trying to say is
our Post Office delivers mail to all counties and we all have addresses for
Jennings, Pawnee County, Oklahoma, I live in Pawnee County, but, if I walked
across the fence line I would be in Creek County, and I know that my In-laws
property borders all three counties, but, they live in Creek County and they are
just across the road from me about 100 feet, people think that if you live in
Jennings you live in Pawnee County, but its not always so. For my records I
put down what is on the Death Certifiate, but, when I know it borders other
counties I put in my notes, so that if I want to find more information on that
person I can look at the other counties that might border each other, because I
have found information that way.

Thanks for listing to me
Delores in Oklahoma
