Subject: [ROOTS-L] Place of death

Where would a person need to look to find a Death Certificate for 
someone who died in Aug 1896 in Choctaw Nation, Atoka Co. Indian 
Territory (now Oklahoma)?  I have info from a military pension record 
that they died there on that date but I cannot find any other 
verification.
