Subject: [ROOTS-L] Place of death pays dividends

Noting actual place death occurred can have unusual benefits. I was
contacted by an oil company representative who was trying to verify a death
to clear the way for leasing mineral rights. He had been told I had lots of
family records. When I found that the person had died in a hospital (from
the obituary I'd clipped) in a neighboring county, I was able to solve his
problem. He had been told earlier that she lived in our county, which was
her place of residence. As a 'thank you' he sent me all the family records
he had researched including a whole branch of the family I didn't know
about - even a copy of my grandfather's will!
