and just leave the blanks for the obvious things.  That way, you know "they" won't forget anything that esp. wanted people to know about you. I have done this and gave it to my daughter who will settle my affairs when I am gone.  That also will make it easy on her. When my husband died suddenly a couple yrs ago, the funeral home wanted an obit immediately and I sat up that night writing it when all I really wanted to do was go to bed and forget the world.
