Subject: [ROOTS-L] CITING LOCATIONS

Hi, Rooters! In citing locations, the word "Probably" is very useful.
Countries, states, even counties, have changed 'hands' so often. Most
times, one is lucky to just get a country correct. For instance, I've
often used "probably Colonial Virginia". Originally, Colonial Virginia
encompassed a huge expanse of land in the U.S. - eventually, that
expanse became so many states.
So - unless you know the exact location, 'probably' is the safest and
best word to use.
Anyway, that's my suggestion.
Good Seeking - Good Luck! Shirley: bobert@i-1.net
