He apparently died sometime before July, 1830, as in that month, his son, Hiram Marion Jackson, was appointed guardian to his other son, Ira G. Jackson. Later census reports find Samuel's widow living with this son. Speculation is that Samuel Jackson may have gone from South Carolina to Georgia, but I find no concrete evidence of this. In the 1820 Census, he is listed as older than 45, so he would have been born in 1775 or earlier. Is there anyone on the list who has been able to document the origin of this Samuel Jackson? Any help gratefully accepted. Jacque
