Subject: [ROOTS-L] Last residence

Hello everyone,

I wonder if there is anyone who perhaps know the answer to a question I've
been wondering about for a while.

When I found one of my relatives in the SSDI at ssdi.rootsweb.com I noticed
that his last residence when he died in July 1964 was "XX782 (U.S.
Consulate: SWEDEN (STOCKHOLM))".

Does anyone know what that means? And why does it say "XX782"?
Could it be that he was visiting Sweden when he passed away or perhaps he
moved back to Sweden, but kept his American citizenship. In 1955 he lived in
Chicago, IL and had been living there since he came to the US in 1903.

I tried to contact the U.S. Consulate in Stockholm without any success
unfortunately.

Thank you in advance!
Kind regards,
Anna in Sweden
