Subject: [ROOTS-L] Backing up a large database

I always back up my files about once a week, (A virus wiped me out once while on vacation several years ago. When I returned home and before I could update my computer, my FTM files were gone. I had backed them up on floppies -it took 3- but even the helpful people at Geneology, com could only get the lst disc to open-everytime you put the 2nd disc it, the program would not accept it. When I was backing it up, the program kept indicating that each floppy was successfully backed up)
Now I am using writable CD, 650MB size. Today, I went to back up my files and I had 850 MB so it would not overwrite.
I have a lot of documents, photos, etc. in my file as am preparing to print it off as a "book" soon.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to back it up as a one shot or must I break it down into several families, therefore several CD's.
Thanks for any help Lynne in Texas
