In 1871 he petioned the court of common pleas in Erie Co. Pa.stating he had been a resident of the US for 5 years, the last year living in Pa, and this was witnessed. If I were to look for his name, with thouse taking there Oath of allegiance, Would I look in Ny 1865, or Pa 1871? Thank You Linda Dougan
