Subject: [ROOTS-L] Re: ROOTS-L Digest V06 #67Stilwell & Dutcher

Dear Rooters,

Thank you so much for your helpful hints. I don't have Ancestry.com,
but my county library does, so I go there to do my research, time permitting.
One of you kind people suggested that I include more information on RootsWeb
about Hattie Dutcher an William Stilwell, so I will. All I know is that
William was born somewhere in Northern New Jersey in the 1860's. Hattie Dutcher
was born somewhere in New York State. I also thought that she was born in
the 1860's but the cemetery where she's buried in says that she was born on
January 15 1875 and died on October 18, 1918, one month before my dad was born.
I know nothing about my great grandfather. He's not buried in the same
cemetery. I'll have to call around to the other cemeteries in the area. He had
a drinking problem, and my grandfather wanted nothing to do with him. He
might be in a potters field somewhere.

William and Hattie had 5 children. Charles was born in 1887, Florence
was born 1890, William (my grandpa), was born in 1893, John was born in 1895
and Kenneth was born in 1907. In the 1910 census Hattie stated that she was
45 years of age. In the 1900 census she listed her birth year as 1866 and she
said that she was 33 years old. I'm confused as to which year she was
really born in, that's why I need her correct birth year. My great grandfather
lists his birth year as 1865 and says his age is 35 in the 1900 census. The
last census that he shows up in is 1920 and he lived in West Orange, NJ, as a
boarder. Anyone who would have known anything died at least 20 years ago! I
really need help!

Thank you, all of you, so much for you help!

    Karen
