Subject: [ROOTS-L] RE: Maps /OnLine Views of the World

Technology is fantastic!! GoogleEarth is a site worth looking at. I can put
in my house address and this program will 'fly' to its location. Enter London
Bridge and it will 'fly' to London, England. Many of the aerial photos are
four or more years old but it is still very impressive.

                     BUT

Google Earth is a broadband, 3D application that not all computers can run

Desktop computers older than 4 years old may not be able to run it.
Notebook computers older than 2 years old may not be able to run it. The better
your monitor resolution the better the results will be.

What all this means is that you need a high speed Internet connection and
your computer needs some processing power. The site also offers upgrades for a
cost, but the free software may be enough for many of you. The site below does
a very good job of explaining requirments, options, etc.

 Happy Hunting
