Subject: [ROOTS-L] Let the GENEALOGIST BEWARE

I have found that some people doing research will submit incorrect info. on
a family name and attach it to their family and submit it, thus confusing
researchers, looking for info. For example, I am looking for info. on my
gggreatgrandfather George W. Brown, born around 1854. I have found relevant
records stating his parents were from Ohio, New York and Ohio. I have found
records stating he was born in 1853, 1854 and 1857. The only thing keeping me
straight is his wife, my gggrandmother Effie Mae Farber Brown. My aunt maxine
thought he died in a railroad accident and I found the records, but someone
else has "claimed" George W. Brown with a different wife in the records. Then I
thought I found him again, then another world tree entry has the same info.
with a different wife. I can see him divorcing and having different wives
but at the same time, each having children?? what a busy man. Then I found
another entry of my grandfather Leon Wise attached to another nice genealogy
website, when I questioned the submitter, he stated he wasn't even sure if he
was related to a Leon Wise. People, lets stays in your direct lines, I know it
is exciting to encompass all who might be descendants, but the spectrum is
to large a task, and may interefere with those of us looking for info. on
direct descendants. Thank you, my surnames found so far are BRAL, FARBER, WISE,
BROWN, CRAMPTON, BROCKELSBY, SCHOUBORG, MARDIS, CONNER, STOKES, BRUEGGEMAN
AND STILL RESEARCHING. Rebecca Bral Bonacci living in Az. _RslJo8@aol.com_
