Subject: [ROOTS-L] Land Survey Abstracts Indices

I have a few questions that I hope someone on the list can answer.  My ggreatfather owned property in Grayson Co. Texas in 1870 - 1880.  I found on the internet a "Land Survery Abstract Indices of the Original Land Owners of Texas.   Shown was my ggrandfather's name, Alfred Johnson.  The only other information shown was Section 51.

My questions are:  What are Land Survey Abstracts Indices?   What information do they contain, would there be family names, or other info useful for tracking my ggrandfather's family?   AND...if I wanted a copy, how & where would I request a copy.
