Subject: [ROOTS-L] Maynard Ancestral File

Please, don't accept what is in the Ancestral File for the Maynards.
There are errors repeating the errors in the Toph Papers at the Ripley Co.,
IN historical society. I told them about it when I found them and showed
them proof, but obviously whoever entered the AF material had gotten the
information prior to my correction.

Rev. William Maynard married twice. Sarah Kemp (Widow Phillips). And in
Ripley Co., IN, 1861, Mary Ann JOHNSTON, the widow of Benjamin BERESFORD. She
was found in Cinncinnati when she transferred property and she died 20 March
1891. Her parents were Adam and Ann Johnston. Mary Ann was born in OH. Her
only child died before she did.

IN Reg. Civil War.
Co. G 83 Indiana Infantry. Private Private Union

Civil War record but no pension record.
Listed as Frank P. Beresford.
Frank P Beresford
Residence: Sunmans, Indiana Occupation:
Enlist Date: 13 August 1862 State: Indiana

The second William Maynard, son of Rev. William and Sarah Kemp (Widow
Phillips) Maynard, also married twice.
The first was to Martha Clout of Sandhurst, England. She was the mother of
the children who sailed with them to Indiana in 1860.
The second marriage was to Harriet HOLLENSBEE/HOLENSBY. She was not married
to the good Reverend, as the Ancestral File lists. She was married to the
son who arrived in 1860.
Harriet had 2 children, Isaac and Mary Ann. She died and is buried in
Rossburg Cemtery, Decatur Co., IN.
This is Harriet's family line.
