Uhhhh? -- uh --- not to beat a dead horse, but *this* caused a flap?

Seems like a perfectly reasonable request to me. Is this so different than looking up Joseph Smithson in
the 1850 Warren County, New Jersey (which is close to New York City) census?

If anyone got hostile about this post, s/he should be chastised! I've been out of state (and out of touch
with my e-mail) or I'd have jumped all over this earlier.

Now, as to the results, neither of these shires are particularly close to London.

Here are some possibles:

Charles A King born abt 1847 in Great Easton, Leicestershire, England. Servant. Leicester St Margaret,
Leicestershire

For Dad:

George King abt 1832 Leicestershire, England Head Leicester St Margaret Leicestershire
For mom:
Elizabeth King abt 1833 Leicestershire, England Wife Leicester St Margaret Leicestershire
Siblings
Anna King abt 1843 Billson Copley, Leicestershire, England Servant Leicester St Margaret Leicestershire

George King abt 1861 Leicestershire, England Leicester St Margaret

Well, where is Mary? Don't know -- may be a different family, maybe her name was Mary Elizabeth. Maybe
there were different mothers. Do we have further information?

No Londoners match the criteria at all.

What other information do we have?

Pat (in Tucson)

|This was the original question that started the ridiculous
|flap about helping people. Since I had a hand in this
|miss-deed, here is the original post again quoted below.
|There has been dozens of messages to the list, including one
|from me chastening listers for one reason or another. Has
|anyone actually bothered to try to help? If I had access to
|the info requested I would try this, but I do not. I am sorry
|for the part I played in this transgression...
