Subject: [ROOTS-L] Alfred Maynard

That is my group. I read parish records to get ever so much information on
the family. William, Sr. was a minister and moved quite a bit. His wife
was a widow previously, Sarah Kemp Phillips. She had a daughter Naomi, before
she married Rev. William Maynard, Sr.
They sailed from England in 1852 and went directly to Ripley Co., IN.

The good reverend was grandfather to Alfred Maynard, born in England. His
family didn't sail until 1860 so the passenger information you have is not
mine. I have copies of their passenger records and their intent to naturalize.

He was the Alfred you found in 1880, married to Calvery Bundy.

Shelby Co., IN, marriage records for Alfred and Calvery J. Book 11,
page 413. The officiate was D.J. Matthew, of the Hanover Christian Church.

Death Certificate file # 11201, Reg. District # 229, Primary Reg. Dist. #

Male, white, married. Born Apr. 20, 1852 in England. He was 65 years and
13 months old when he died 4 May, 1917. He was a farmer. His parents were
named. Wm. Maynard and Martha Clout, both born in England.
B. A. Kellogg of Negley, OH, gave the information. Alfred died of cerbral
Hemorrhage. He is buried in East Carmal Cemetery. Date of burial was 4 May,
1917

I didn't recognize him in the 1900 or 1910 census. Estelle Maynard was in
Middleton, Columbiana Co., OH in 1920, the only Maynard there. She was a
widow.
A man named Kellogg gave Alfred's information for his death certificate.

I have a nice photo of Alfred, dressed in a business suit. Family says he
was a teacher and once taught in a college in Arizona. I've not verified
that, either.

An obit would be great help.

Shirley Maynard
