Just a word of caution..... While this description of the Rootsweb
GEN-NEWBIE-L list would lead you to believe that it's for those new in
genealogy, my experience there says that it has been opened up to all
computer newbies and many other non-genealogy subjects. Many, many messages
have absolutely nothing to do with genealogy. Just my two cents worth.....

To the insensitive list member regarding the use of the word newbie.
It is a word. Use your Google search engine. Also Rootsweb has a list
specifically for the NEWBIE. SO before you take the low road and
criticize the grammar, spelling or your idea of what is correct or
incorrect. Please stop sending your FLAMES to me on or off this list.
Inflammatory emails are also reportable to your ISP as harassment, so
next time think before you send.

GEN-NEWBIE-L
http://www.rootsweb.com/~newbie/

Gen-Newbie started as an electronic mailing list for people who were
new to computers and/or genealogy, to ask questions, help others, and
generally share information, research techniques, brick walls, and
computer/genealogy woes. We began, officially, on October 31, 1996,
as an offshoot of the renowned Roots-L. Since then we have gained
over 1,000 members, a unique community that supports the honest and
open newbie questions in a flame-free, tolerant atmosphere concerning
genealogy/computers.

SENIOR-NEWBIE-L
Topic: A mailing list for people of all ages who would like help
learning to use the internet and/or their computer for genealogy
purposes in a safe environment, without being made to feel stupid. It
is not for queries related to specific ancestral searches.
