Several observations: there are angels on most of the lists who have walked me through the process of the search, pointed me in the right direction and even helped me find my grandparents, gg's and cousins (for them, I will be forever grateful!!). It is not always obvious to someone getting started just what information is important, so patience is appreciated. Also, sometimes what looks like it might be laziness or lack of thoughtfulness on the part of a new researcher, is really not having the tools needed to find the material, or not being accustomed to thinking about things like a researcher....again, patience is appreciated! In a recent case, two "found" cousins and I are trying to break through a brick wall to our g-g-g-g-grandparents from Ireland, and we have discovered that looking at a map doesn't give us many clues. Even asking local officials isn't helping, as the records were destroyed in about 1830. The maps have new names and the old towns either no longer exist or exist in different counties, under different names. It might look as if my cousins and I are flayling around, not doing our homework, but that is not the case.....so, again.....patience and suggestions are helpful!
