Hi Rootsweb Posters, I am trying to find info on a Samuel THROM Sr., may also be spelled THRONE, who died of a "fever" in 1849 in Erie Co., PA. He had a son Samuel THROM JR. who appeared on the 1850 Census for Erie Co., PA. Samuel Sr.'s wife's name was Elizabeth. Indications are that Samuel Sr. lived in Donegal Township, Lancaster Co. in late 1820's. In census for 1829 he was a weaver. Does anyone know who his father was? Family Legend has it that he changed his name. Besides Samuel Jr., they had Rebecca, Catherine and George. Wife Elizabeth died in 1839 in Erie Co., PA. Not sure if Samuel Sr.'s father was Jacob Thron/Trone born 1763 to Abraham Thron born 1738 son of Hans Georg Thron born 1709. Jacob Thron/Trone born 1763 was buried in 1837 in the Baer Mennonite Burying Ground, Heidelberg township, York Co., PA {source:The Hanover Herald (Hanover, PA) 29 April 1837).
