For Dave

Don't know if this will help - I don't know anything about this family but
the name caught my eye because I had seen it on a Rev War pension app for
Shadrach Nolen of Fairfield Co. SC. Shadrach applied while living in
Hardin Co. Tenn in 1834.

"That he (Shadrach Nolen) enlisted in the Army of the United States about
the commencement of the war between Great Britain and the United States but
in what year he does not know nor is he certain what regiment of line. He
was enlisted by two recruiting officers named Pannel & Walton in the state
of Georgia who was with others under the Colonial Government, forted at
Petersburg in the state of Georgia as Rangers to protect the frontier
settlements from Indian incursions & outrages & whilst there forted as a
Ranger as aforesaid under the British Government, the above named Pannel
and Walton came there & this declarant & and all the others there forted
enlisted with them except the Captain and 1st Lieut."

There was a Jonathan and Luke Pannel in Fairfield Co. SC in 1810, a Thomas
Pannel in Dickson Co. Tenn in 1820, Littleton Pannel in Monroe Co. Tenn in
1830 on pg 147 and a John Parnell pg 145 1830 Monroe Co.
