I don't recall if this subject has been discussed here before, but storage
of heirloom fabrics has requirements not unlike archival storage of
photographs.  Especially important is use of acid/lignin-free and PVC-free
materials.  Ordinary writing and printer paper likely contains wood and
acid-based materials, so that should not be put in the same package
containing the fabric.  Google on topics such as fabric preservation to
find websites with a lot of information about this subject.  One that I
found quickly that seems to have a good basic discussion is:
