Joan,

I'm not a Family Tree Maker expert but it would seem to me that it is
creating the report correctly.  A Kinship report should only show
people who are related, or are "kin" to one another as we used to say
in the mountains.  Adopted children are part of our family history but
are not a branch on our genealogy tree.  I think with the diversity in
what constitutes a family these days the creators of genealogy
programs need to reexamine the way they handle these relationships.
