Unfortunately, I did a typo on John Huggins' year of birth - it was 1813 and not 1803. Big difference, LOL. As for him being a riverboat pilot, I wish I knew the author's source - all he wrote was "He was a riverboat pilot on the Ohio River". (The book was "Huggins Families of Western PA & Northern WV" by Charles Huggins). As for Abijah & Thomas Huggins - their father was John Huggins b. 1770-1771. "My" John R. Huggins wasn't shown as a son to the senior John Huggins in the book. (Abijah & Thomas had a brother named John b. abt 1793). It's very possible John R. Huggins was related to these other Huggins but it's unknown as of now.
