Subject: [ROOTS-L] Sussex County, DE research

There is a very active list on Rootsweb. It is the Lower-Delmarva list.

Also, the Delaware Public Archives in Dover has a lot of very good information (www.state.de.us/sos/dpa/collections/collections.shtml)

The Delaware Genealogical Society also is a good source; however, a lot of their main emphasis is on the upper portion of the state.

You may also want to check the website for the Sussex County Genealogical Society (www.scgsdelaware.org).

The Laurel Library and the South Coastal Library have good resources as well.

You may also want to consider the Maryland Public Archives as a source since much of Sussex County was once part of Maryland.

I hope the above information helps.
