Subject: [ROOTS-L] JESSE AND ELIZABETH VINSON MOREHOUSE OR OUACHITA PARISH LOUISIANA SEARCH

1. Jesse Vinson(Vincent) died July 15 1854
In either Morehouse or Ouachita Parish Louisiana.

Succession and Tutorship papers found at the Ouachita parish
court house in Monroe Louisiana name his Wife, Elizabeth Vinson,
  and His children :
  William Lafayette Vinson,
  Louisa Jane Vinson,
  James Pickens Vinson,
  Roena Elizabeth Vinson,
  Sophonia Ann Vinson,
  Marion Vinson (Born in Ga.),
  McAllister Vinson,
  Delilah Vinson and
  Warren Vinson as survivors.

  2. Jesse Vinson and family were enumerated in the 1850 census of Hinds County, MS on page 206. The census states Jesse Age was 40,
a laborer, and born in North Carolina. His wife, Elizabeth,
was 27, and born in Georgia.

Children names as listed in the Census records were:
William S. (age 13, born in Georgia)
Louisa (age 10, born in Georgia)
James B. (age 8, born in Georgia)
Roanna (age 7, born in Georgia)
Safrona (age 6, born in Georgia)
Marion (age 5, born in Alabama)
McAllister (age 3, born in Alabama)
Infant female (age 3 months, born in Mississippi)

  3. I have not been able to locate his Widow (Wife) ,
Elizabeth Vinson or family in the 1860 Ouachita Parish
or Morehouse Parish or Jackson Parish Census records.

  4. The 1870 Morehouse Parish La. Census shows her(Elizabeth Vinson)
and son's McAllister and Warren in Morehouse Parish living there.
  In Ward 8.

  5. The 1880 Census of Jackson Parish La shows Elizabeth Vinson,
Age 59 (Born in Ga.)and Son, Warren Vinson, Age 25, (Born in Louisiana)
in household of William Richy, Age 24, and his wife Joana, Age 23,
  (Both born in Mississippi).

Next door was Mac Vinson(Elizabeth's Son), Age 30, born in Alabama,
and wife Lavinia, Age 27 Born in Mississippi. So we suspect they were
visiting the Richy Family when the census was taken.

  6. SEARCHING FOR :

  a. Any information on Elizabeth Vinson and her family after her
husbands death in 1854 and to her appearance in the 1870
  Morehouse Parish Census.

  b. The burial location of Jessee in Ouachita Parish or Morehouse Parish.

Thanks In Advance for any assistance on this one.

  Al Vinson
