Subject: [ROOTS-L] Submitting Tree To Ancestry

Hey Folks,

I have recently submitted my tree to Ancestry and it has already benefited me more then the person requesting information.

Over the past year I have been fortunate to have a person researching my husband's side of the family. He has written several books and is the best genealogist I know in this area. When I first started e-mailing him questions, I though I was becoming a big pain in the rear. But he had a different attitude toward all my stupid questions. He said that he didn't mind the questions, because it made him go back and review areas he may not have looked at in awhile. And not being the type of person to assume he is perfect, appreciated any other ideas pertaining to relationships and new information found by others.

And that is why I have my Tree on Ancestry, although I only allow access to those requesting to see it. And it has already helped me. Some time ago, due to my daughter's entusiasim, she had added some information that we were unable to verify. I thought I had deleted all the people attached to that information. BUT then I got a request to view infomration on one of the people I thought had been deleted. I very politely told the person this information was incorrect but they were welcome to view my tree anyways. See it helped me already.

Hope this adds a different view to submitting your tree to Ancestry.
