Ellis Island did not open until 1892. Gretchen ORIGINAL QUESTION: From: "Don and Ann Derner" Subject: look up please Frederick Fischer born in 1841 may have emigrated on the Ship Baltic, I count no find him on the Ellis Island site but i did find mention of him on the immgrant ship lists site, but when I found that ship I did not see his name, if anyone can find this ship with the Fischers on it I would appreciate a look-up or anyother ships the William G fischer born in Prussia in 1832 and emgrated around 1856 and charlotte emigrated around 1847 , they were married probably in germany. these fischer lived in Tonawanda NY and Newstead ny i have written to the National Archives and the Newstead library and so far they have not answered me therefore I need help in searching this line, if anyone has access to the 1915 , 1920 or 1930 census records, I did read on one site the the 1930 census for ny is not available , does any one know if this is true, or not ? ann derner donannd@shentel.net
