Subject: [ROOTS-L] Re: Family trees

From: "Marilyn Bartenslager" <mljjbart@hotmail.com>

I have a question about updating my tree information without having a
subscription to Ancestry. I recently had to let me subscription drop at the
end of July. If all goes well I will resubsrcibe in the future. How
do I go about updating or checking if I have any postings?

Thanks
Marilyn

I found one tree for you at Online Family Tree. Why not remove your
existing tree from Online Family Tree and then upload a new tree in GEDCOM format to
WorldConnect?

Your tree is here: http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=:2154841 If
you need to download your tree in GEDCOM format you can do it before removing
the tree. Import the GEDCOM file into your genealogy program and make your
updates. Then upload your new tree to WorldConnect. http://wc.rootsweb.com/ .

To remove an Online Family Tree (OFT) where the user code starts with a
colon and seven numbers (which fits your case), go to: http://www.ancestry.com/
and click on the Family Trees tab. You should see a chart headed select an
online family tree. If you don't you will need to click the login to view
existing family trees link. Your tree should be displayed there.

Icons to the far right of each listed tree here indicate the current status
of that tree. If you do not see graphical icons (such as world globe or
trashcan), click the advanced options link just above the chart outline. Click on
the world globe with red x icon to remove the file from Ancestry World
Tree/WorldConnect. Next click the trashcan icon to delete your tree from OFT. You
cannot recover your file after doing this--so make sure you have a copy, if
need be, before doing this.
