Subject: [ROOTS-L] Re: Uploading trees to Ancestry (was: Re:Family trees)

"I" have an old AWT tree which is WRONG (I'm so much smarter now than I used
to be
<G>) up on AWT. I didn't put it there, and can only assume it was uploaded
from the old CDs we contributed
to for Family Tree Maker, some ten years ago. It has no "contact" and no
number or other identifying
flags. I'm asking to have it removed, but haven't heard back yet.

Pat-

To the best of my knowledge those old trees such as you describe above
cannot be removed. They are NOT AWT trees, however, they are WFT trees (World
Family Trees). AWT trees were never placed on CDs and sold -- only the FTM
World Family Trees were sold on CDs and now incorporated into One World Tree with
no inclusion of contact info.

You are correct that the only way to combat the outdated incorrect info is
to be sure that the correct data is also publicly available along side of the
old outdated data.
