Subject: [ROOTS-L] Site for All Mailing Lists
Sender: roots-in@roots-l.rootsweb.com

Hi All,

A more inclusive list that includes all servers is the list by John
Fuller...

If you do not know where to subscribe to any of the thousands of lists that
may be of help, please go to this site as it is the best IMHO...
http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/internet.html
>From here pick out a list for the area you are researching and subscribe to
it, then using a VERY descriptive subject line, send a post to the experts
and see if they can help. These others may also help too....
Be sure to keep the instructions so when you want to unsub you can do that
with ease.

---Original message---
Hi all,
There have been several requests asking where to find specific Rootsweb
Mailing lists.

Every mailing list that is now available can be found below. Either
Surname,
Country, State, County, etc.

Simply click on the area that you are interested in and check there first.
Also, it is my understanding, that most new lists go to Miscellaneous at
first
so be sure to check there and see if one exists.

Actually sometimes they are sort of hidden so be sure to check in various
spots, especially if it is not tied in with a Country, state, county,
surname.

If unable to find the type of list you are interested in you may apply to
Rootsweb for a new mailing list.....although there seems to be one for
almost
anything (grin).
Hope this helps someone, Gretchen
