I had a great uncle that died in WW2 in Canada. He was in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He died without ever getting over to Europe, in a fire, in his barracks. I was advised to write for his military records anyway, and so I did...WHAT A HUGE FIND !

...Turns out there was an inquest into his death, and the fire. So there were pages of documented interviews in his file. Then there was a form that's filled out if the serviceman had died, and on this form there were the addresses and previous addresses of my great grandparents, I never knew that had lived at those places. The file listed all his brothers and sisters, and their occupations, and where they lived. Most of that info I never knew before. Here's the biggee...the file listed all his brothers and sisters that had died before him....There were 7 of them that I never knew of, and 4 that I was never quite sure of....It also listed how his own father died, (from shock of his son's death). If anyone is researching an ancestor that was in WWII, and was a Canadian citizen, I strongly suggest you contact the Canadian War Records Dept.

I have the exact address, but not with me at the moment.... but if there is anyone interested email me and I will provide it for you.
