Don, I agree.

Frequently we forget that when we have a single, special topic we should see
if RootsWeb offers a site specific to it. If not, perhaps one is needed.

http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/other/DNA/ for specific families ...

http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/other/Medical_Genealogy/ for medical *
including Medical-Pedigree

Even with the specific family, if you don't find yours, the people on one of
those lists will probably be much better versed and able to help you.

There are some good books out -- check your online library catalog. One
such paperback (inexpensive) book is "Trace Your Roots with DNA," using
genetic tests to explore your family tee by Megan Smolenyak and Ann Turner
(Rodale Books).

We need to also remember to change (or add to as I've done above) the
Subject line. Many of us receive so many e-mails, for one reason or
another, that we simply 'delete off' when the subject at hand is not there.
Just don't have time to read them all ..... what does "Digest V06#352" tell
us ... that we can retrieve the message - but I want to know what the
subject is that you're writing about -

I think all of us are willing to help when and where we can but we should
remember not to depend on all our answers from 'lists,' otherwise we may
leave much needed information on the floor. Nothing like doing the
investigation/reading for yourself.
