Actually, it means that half of the father's sperm are carrying only the X
(which will produce a female) from the father's XY set, and half of the
sperm are carrying only the Y (which will produce a male).  So it's really
essentially 50/50.

Never mind about the DNA.  I had a Sr moment and forgot the XY, when they
come that way, determine sex. 

So, does that mean males are really accidents after all?  One Y against
three Xs!!
