Subject: [ROOTS-L] Adoption question

I have a letter written in 1947 from a person to my
grandmother. Upon reading this letter, it seems my
grandmother had two girls that she gave up for
adoption. I don't know what the girls' complete original
names were but the letter gives the first names the
adoptive parents gave the girls.

I guess I need some moral advice. Should I provide more
information in an attempt to contact the girls so I can
provide their mother's (my grandmother) ancestry and
some info? Or is it better to let them try to find out
themselves if they're interested? They may not know
they are adopted but the letter implies they will be
told eventually.

If I decide to try and locate the girls AND if they are
still living is this a real long shot?

Thank you
