I'm betting that if you try various phrases in your search engine you'll
come up with more than I'm giving you below... try postal history,
postmasters, Indiana postmaster, Indiana post offices, [state] postal
history society, postal historical societies, etc.

The Historian maintains Postmaster Finder, the Postal Service's national
historic record of Postmasters by Post Office, online at
www.usps.com/postmasterfinder. The Historian's staff can provide guidance in
researching specific aspects of postal history. Upon request, the
Historian's staff can provide the names and appointment dates of Postmasters
who have served at particular Post Office locations, Post Office
establishment and discontinuance dates, and the dates of any Post Office
name changes. Response time will vary, depending on the number of requests
received.

I've had some good luck with them on early Texas post offices. Take a look
at the whole site:

> Could anyone tell me where I could look up information for the past
Postmasters in the USA? Several of my family members were Postmasters in
Nebraska, Indiana, Illinois and elsewhere. I would really appreciate this so
much. The time period would be about 1900 - 1993.
