Subject: [ROOTS-L] Meaning of "jour."?
Sender: roots-in@roots-l.rootsweb.com

In a biography on my gr grandfather, Charles W. WELLS, it says that he
worked as a "jour." and traveled over the western states in 1849-50.

Can someone please tell me the definition of "jour."?

Thanks for any help.

Peggy
