Subject: [ROOTS-L] Computer Genealogy Meeting

WHAT: Computer Assisted Genealogy Group-Cleveland Area Meeting

WHEN: Saturday, May 20, 2006 - Doors open at 9 a.m.; meeting 9:30 a.m. with
general program/speaker. Breakout sessions for the major genealogy software
programs start at 11 a.m.; brown bag lunch; computer fundamentals from 1-2
p.m.

WHERE: Fairview Park Regional Library, 21255 Lorain Road, Fairview Park OH

PROGRAM:

Morning Program: Land Records in the Living Room with John Dailey

John will explore the Internet to show some possibilities of long distance
land record research. A growing number of counties are putting records
online. We will locate some of the sites where information is stored and
actually download images of some deeds.

Afternoon Program: More Tricks with Spreadsheets with Bob Minnich

Bob will help us explore the many features of spreadsheets. They can be used
for your pictures or to put on a slide show. A spreadsheet is the perfect
way to handle a membership list where you can link cells to make mailer
labels. You can make your own personal phone book or even create maps.

use of personal computers for researching and processing genealogy data and
2) provide the resources for computer assisted genealogy education. Meetings
of the Computer Assisted Genealogy Group-Cleveland Area are held nine times
a year at the new Fairview Park Regional Library, 21255 Lorain Road,
Fairview Park, Ohio. Normally on the third Saturday of each month; no
