Subject: [ROOTS-L] Hello I'm new to this family tree stuff

Hi, I am trying to get information about W.R. Lanier. He was born Feb. 28, 1844 in Lexington, NC and died on May 10, 1922 in Orange, CA. I know he was married to Susannah Ross on May 10, 1874 and had three childern, Edith, Walter, and William. I can't find out a thing about his parents. I have tried everthing. Could someone help?
   
  I am also trying to get information about Benjamin Franklin Lanier. I think he was born Sept. 6, 1890 in Wiggins Stone, Mississippi and died March 9, 1960 in CA, maybe in the LA area. I am not 100% sure about this but this is the best I could do. Could someone help me on this?
