Subject: [ROOTS-L] Re:WWI records

Juanita,
I found my grandparents divorce on the county web-site in Florida.
They divorced in 1910.
The website (Alachua County) is really a great site. I emailed them asking
if
they had a record and they answered back with a yes and the amount of money
needed
to have the papers copied and sent to me. It was court archives.
If the site of the county you are interested in doesn't have a lot of
information on it, write
a letter (enclosing a self-addressed, stamped envelope) and you might get a
good reply.
Some times it can take a long time to get an answer as some places are
really swamped.
Good luck,
Toni in Michigan
