I will not add to the fire. I want to just tell someone who can't see well
how to overcome this.
For 3 years I had growing cataracts that limited my vision. Then I had
surgeries, first one eye, then the second to remove this film The first healed
quickly, the second took over a year. Then I had surgery to remove eyelids
that were bulging over my eyes so I couldn't see well. That took some months
to heal. I still don't have perfect vision, but vastly improved.
Okay, those are my credentials.
So how did I overcome it and remain conventional?
I enlarged my font so I could see what I was typing, then I reduced it to
normal size before I sent it.
If some message came in that I couldn't read well, I highlighted the text,
enlarged it to a size I could read, replied, then reduced it before I sent it.
We all have this feature.
We can overcome our handicaps without breaking conventions in our hobby.
(Dear friends sent me large font messages.)
I believe messages to the list are defaulted to 10 font, so perhaps even
reducing the message isn't necessary.

My cousin, Carol Ann Moore, able to move only her head, used two chopsticks
held between her teeth to type messages and she followed the conventions. We
can do it.
But let's be nice to newcomers and tell them in private that there are
certain conventions that we do observe and why. And add a big smile.
