Subject: [ROOTS-L] Re: ROOTS-L Digest V06 #162 (back ups)

The answer to the backup question is.. ANY backup is terrific if it saves
you from losing all your data. All you need do is be able to recover the
information whether it be from cd, zip drive or floppy (now obsolete).

Everyone sets their own limits as to when they back their information up.
How much time will it take you to recover everything you have done since your
last backup? If you haven't added anything to your database for a while,
maybe not much.

I even have one of those thumb drives that has gedcoms of my ftm databases
and I am now working on keying in the hard copy of a couple of books that would
be impossible for me to find if they were destroyed. (These are only
family written books).
