Subject: [ROOTS-L] Re: Fred Edward Hampton in Iowa

Thanks for the additional info about the railroad.

I've been pondering about the Edward Hampton (1880 Jefferson Co. IA
census) and the Fred Edward Hampton who registered for the draft, but
am having difficulty establishing proof. I know the Edward on the
1880 census had two sisters, both of whom I've found were adopted. I
don't know who raised Edward if the Fred Edward is the same person. I
wish I could locate any info about Fred Edward between the 1880
census and the 1917 draft registration.

If there are marriage records, I'd appreciate someone checking them
if they can, and tell me what they say. I found a Fred Hampton,
1900 Henry Co. census, in Jackson Twp., born 1878 IA, whose parents
were "unknown". He was married to "Mary _______? whose parents were
born Hungary and Germany. Would like proof who he'd been living with
between the 1880 census and 1900 census.

Almost any information is more than I've been able to find and I'd
appreciate hearing from somebody who can help me. I've also been
trying to find what happened the Edward Hampton's mother, Clara,
shown on the 1880 Jefferson Co. IA census.

Thanks much!

juanita
