Iowa. He indicated he was born February 1879 and was a Brakeman working for a railroad, 39 yrs. old. Can someone tell me what railroad was operating in the Jefferson Co. Iowa area in the early 1900's and whether or not Fred Edward Hampton was married. He listed a "friend" as his nearest relative on the draft registration. Is there a marriage/divorce/death record for him or a spouse? I know an Edward Hampton was born to Levi and Clara Hampton in Jefferson County and was one year old on the 1880 census. I can find no further reference to him....at least not by "Edward". Don't know if these two are same person or not. Appreciate any help in getting some facts about the Hampton registering for WW I draft, or directing me to some place I can do further research. Thanks! juanita
