After closer examination of the passenger listing, it can be seen that my grandfather August Zakowski, is going to meet his BROTHER-IN-LAW at 539 Alexander. (That in-law part is hiding up there and is very easily missed) We think this may be Max or Alex not my original thinking of Mrs. I still think this is an address in NYC, most likely Manhattan as there is no other address info with it. And while his final destination is Wilkes-Barre where my dad grew up, I don't think this is a reference to there. So let's keep our thinking caps on and see if we can find a listing in the 1900 NYC census for an Alexander (place? park?). I have come across a reference to an Alexander Ave in The Bronx but have not yet been able to find it in the census so that is still a possibility too. Again, thanks for all the ideas.
