Subject: [ROOTS-L] Bridget

Let's clear the conflct about poor Bridget. I already wrote the questioner personally, but do want to add this: St. Bridget is a time honored saint of Ireland. Girls were named that to honor the saint. When the Irish families arrived in the US, they tried to hide the fact they were Irish, so the usual name taken in place of Bridget, was Delia. My daughter likes the name so much she legally changed her middle name to Bridget, to HONOR her Irish ancestors. Things go round and round, don't they?
