Subject: [ROOTS-L] Locating an residence in the 1900 Census
Sender: roots-in@roots-l.rootsweb.com

I found a passenger listing for my grandfather, August Saikowsky (Zajkowski), age 18, stating that he was to meet a relative, Mrs.
Saikowsky, at 539 Alexander something or other. This is for the SS Palatia into the port of NY in June of 1900. I am assuming
this Alexander residence is in NYC someplace. How does one find a residence given a street address in the 1900 NY census? This
would be a new lead as it was previously believed that my grandfather was the only one to come to America so a reference of him
meeting an established relative is intriguing.

Thanks in advance for any assistance provided.
